Currently staying over the long weekend. Absolutely horrible hotel. Appalling organisation and services. An international 5 stars chain should not be like this. Arrived at hotel 1:30pm, huge line for check in. Informed no rooms available, was very unwell but clearly they do not care and said they will SMS. Obviously SMS did not come through, lined up again at 3pm for 20 minutes. Front desk indicated the wrong rate and benefits, was absolutely in shock because I need an AMEX card to check in. While I have one, cannot imagine what this kind of mistakes would cause to someone who does not have AMEX. Again, a mistake from the hotel, after contacting the travel agent urgently and even asked the agent to talk to the check in staff. After 30 minutes and numerous clarifications finally provided me with the correct details. So I wonder why no SMS came to me and how on earth can a hotel mess what kind of package the guest booked on. This hotel got no customer service, I complained immediately to Accor headgroup. Not sure how a $500 night could be as bad as this. Beside nice room service staff, I just don’t see any customer service here. Imagine taking you 2.5 hours to just get your room key.

Gorgeous hotel in the city with amazing views! Reception staff amazing and concierge and porters helpful and knowledgeable. Had chocolates at check in and was told about the free nightly fireworks display seen from the pool. Rooms are beautiful. The pool was far too busy but it has a great city harbour view. Everyone reserving chairs and even places on the ground with towels. Buffet breakfast is one of the best we've been too! An Asian section with dumplings and a noodles station, lots of hot and cold selections, smoothie shots, yoghurt pots, bircher and over night oats, a kids lolly station and an egg section. Location is great for getting to attractions Sea life, Sydney Zoo and the wax museum. Ferries, King street wharf restaurants and the tram is just outside. Room service was amazing and the buratta was so good! The only critique I have is dinner at their restaurant which was average compared to everything else at the hotel.

A Great hotel with great service. Located next to the convention center in Darling Harbor downtown Sydney, this is a great hotel to stay and explore the area by foot. The rooms are quiet and bed is very comfortable. The gym on 4th floor is pretty good. A bit limited on weights etc by fully functional

We stayed here for our Anniversary in June 2023, I'm an Accor plus member and opted for 'Superior Room with Premium Bath and Darling Harbour View', Was very disappointed with the condition of windows, specially when the view is your main selling point? No compensation was given, Just casually replied 'Oh we apologize, we have a window cleaning scheduled for August', Good for you ! but we're in June? and I was given a room with dusty windows? I'd stay away from this hotel, at least until the construction site next door is done, don't be fooled by influencer videos on tiktok xoxoxo

I appreciate the feedback and am disappointed that we did not meet or exceed your expectations during your stay. We are very lucky in that our building is 35 levels of floor to ceiling glass. The downfall to that is, due to several key factors including weather and the surrounding environment, there are times when the windows may need to be cleaned more than others. I apologise that our team did not contribute to making your stay a memorable one for positive reasons. This really does disappoint me when we work so hard to create memorable moments for our guests. Breathtaking and deserving of all reviews the drew us here We had read so many glowing reviews of the Sofitel on Darling Harbour, that we felt we must see what made this hotel so special. We can now add our own review to what has been for us, a truly wonderful experience. We had come to Sydney to celebrate a much delayed anniversary and to catch up with our son. On arrival we were warmly greeted as platinum members and directed to the 35th floor, the Millesime Lounge, where the wonderful Alice made us welcome and advised us on benefits we might enjoy during our three night stay. Alice then advised us that we had been upgraded to a corner room overlooking Darling Harbour on the 27th floor! We were offered a glass of champagne and chocolates, advised about breakfast each morning in the lounge or at Ateliers on the third floor. There was also afternoon tea available in the lounge followed by drinks and canapés from 5:30 pm if we were free. Our room, 2705, had a beautiful view of the harbour and beyond through floor to ceiling windows. It really was a most wonderful room. The bed was luxurious, the bathroom spacious and beautifully appointed and the shower, fantastic. There was even a bath! Breakfast in the lounge was generous with so many excellent options. Even a croissant bread and butter pudding. The staff were delightful. A wonderful team who above all else made our stay so memorable. Sadly we did not get everyone’s name although everyone we encountered smiled and asked if we were in needed. The housekeeping staff made sure our room was always made up beautifully. Of those whom we did meet, Alice at reception in the Millesime Lounge, Gracie, Luna and Danielle along with the rest of the team in the lounge were delightful, friendly and kind. What fantastic ambassadors they all are for this excellent hotel. A final note of thanks to the management who on hearing of our delayed anniversary left us a gift of a beautiful cake along with a bottle of wine ! Thank you for an excellent stay and thank you for the reviews before us that led us to the Sofitel, Darling Harbour
